Recommended Family Film to Watch: The Pacifier

Two nights ago, my fiance and I watched a fun, family film called “The Pacifier.”

Starring Vin Diesel, Faith Ford, Brad Garrett and Brittany Snow in this fun yet action packed and family oriented film from 2005, the plot consists of honorable Navy Lieutenant, Shane Wolfe who is on a mission from his superior officer to watch the late professor Howard Plummer’s family from being killed due to the late professor’s work of “Ghost,” a nuclear code he had been working on for his latest project before being abducted and killed by the Serbian Rebels.

In the beginning, Wolfe was a strict disciplinarian who believed in having curfews, tight schedules and no excuses for disrespect. In the middle, we see him warming up to the family as another father figure to the Plummer kids and sympathetic to their situation in which they were all unaware of how their father was killed. Not to mention, they begin to have their events scheduled in a timely yet organized manner and they showed respect to Wolfe after the house was broken into by the not-so-neighborly family, Chuns.

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this film as a 10 because it has that “sit down and watch” factor with action, family-oriented and comedy genres combined.
